This summer, the Foster group, alongside the Chauvet, Tartakovskii and Leggett groups, have hosted a 2D materials summer school for students from KSU in Saudi Arabia.
The students learned how to prepare porphyrin-based nanosheets with different metal centres, as well as the multitude of techniques we use to analyse them and confirm their structures.
Josh, Holly and Joel all attended the RSC’s macrocylic and supermolecular chemistry interest groups early career researcher meeting in Lincoln, with Josh presenting a flash talk and poster.
There was a wide range of excellent chemistry presented, and Josh won a Merck prize for best flash talk (by popular vote)!
